The Budapest-based conservative think tank Center for Fundamental Rights (CFR - Alapjogokért Központ) – the proud organizers of CPAC Hungary, the only Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) hitherto organized in Europe - has joined the Free Speech Alliance, a transatlantic coalition of free-speech advocating organizations that was launched by the Media Research Center, based in the United States of America.

The Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights is proud to join the Free Speech Alliance as the leading conservative legal think tank in Hungary, dedicated to protecting the fundamental value of free speech under our trilateral motto of “God, homeland, family”. Free speech in a Hungarian historical context is a hard-fought right and constitutionally protected fundamental value, that was attained and maintained throughout a millennium of wars of independence and struggles for liberation, due to Hungary being subjected to colonization and occupation efforts by forces seeking to force us into vassalage, efforts that were resisted at every turn by the freedom loving Hungarian people. Consequently, looking forward to the 21st century, it is a profound honor for CFR to be united via this community of values with prestigious pro free speech organizations on both sides of the Atlantic that are devoted to the conservative cause.

On the occasion of our entry into the Free Speech Alliance, Miklós Szánthó, Director General of the Center for Fundamental Rights had the following to say: “As Western Civilization comes under increasing pressure from the globalized, postmodern Left, it is essential for all men and women of good will on the Right to join forces to resist the assault. Should their efforts to censor us bear fruit, all voices of reason may be driven from the marketplace of ideas, including in the vital areas of protecting children from gender ideology and securing our borders from the onslaught of illegal, uncontrolled migration. We are all united in our struggle for freedom and peace. We proudly stand with MRC in this epochal battle”.

Adding to this statement, Media Research Center president and founder L. Brent Bozell stated that “More and more Big Tech censorship is being uncovered in the U.S. and abroad. We now know the U.S. government coerced and colluded with social media companies to censor and squelch freedoms (…) We are proud to welcome the Center for Fundamental Rights to the Free Speech Alliance. We look forward to working together to defend free speech around the globe.” Furthermore, Dan Schneider, Media Research Center Vice President for the Free Speech Alliance added, "We have found proof that the Biden Administration is colluding with foreign entities to expand its censorship regime to all corners of the globe. This is a fight that all people who value freedom must join. The Center is a proven leader in Europe and will be a valuable ally for the Alliance."

As of now, through CFR’s joining of this coalition, the Free Speech Alliance now includes more than 130 member organizations, including 13 international members. The Center for Fundamental Rights is honored to join the ranks of such a prestigious, internationally acclaimed alliance dedicated to upholding the fundamental value of free speech and is looking forward to partnering with our allies across both sides of the Atlantic to advance the time honored, joint American-Hungarian cause of protecting and preserving our constitutional liberties.
